Description: The Safer Foundation will implement ¿Model Workplace Acclimation Programming for persons with Criminal Records. This program will include education, pre-employment, employment and retention. It will be dedicated to service exclusively criminal offenders in southern Cook County. This will occur through the creation of an academic training environment that simulates the interpersonal roles, values and communication styles common to work settings everywhere. As training concludes, a Placement Specialist will coordinate the introduction of prepared placement candidates to potential employers. Probationers and parolees placed in jobs or vocational training will be monitored and coached in job-retention strategies, recidivism prevention tactics and life-management skill development.
