Description: The It Happened to Alexa Foundation will use $197,329 in grant funds to provide support services to victims of rape and sexual assault and to their parents or guardians. Funds are made available through the Edward Byrne Memorial State and Local Law Enforcement Assistance Discretionary Grants Program. The Foundation will hire a full-time program coordinator responsible for operations and outreach to targeted constituencies including victims, district attorneys, victims advocates, and family members of victims. Educational materials will be designed, produced and distributed. Also travel arrangements will be provided to victims and parents or guardians of victims when necessary and unavailable through the jurisdiction where the violent crime occurred.
