To improve the functioning of the criminal justice system and enforce state and local laws - Police Command Center, Cleveland, OH.

1 recipient will receive $99,000. This is a first-time earmark.
Year Enacted: 2005
Code: 147
Description: The City of Cleveland determined there was a need to establish an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to be used in the event of a large scale emergency. This EOC would contain state of the art communications equipment and provide a base of operations for local, regional, State and Federal emergency disciplines in the Cleveland area. A Cleveland Police Command Center is a major component of this EOC. Funds from this award will be used for two projects involving the Police Command Center that will complete the EOC: the purchase and installation of networking equipment that will connect the EOC with the main Police Command Center and create redundancy within the entire network; and the implementation of a Backup Communications Center that will include the relocation of the backup 911 system and the creation of reverse 911 and 311 systems.
