Description: The Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico "Portal De Esperanza" Interdisciplinary Clinic for Community Services (ICCS) will: (1.) Increase Domestic Violence Prevention and Intervention Services at Ponce. [a. Train ICCS staff about domestic violence issues: legal issues related, domestic violence syndrome, emergency plans, education on non violent environments; b. Evaluate the safety and security at ICCS; c. Establish and implement effective protocols to manage complaints of domestic violence with care for the victim as the first priority; d. Develop effective alliances between ICCS and Legal Assistance Clinic; e. Develop effective alliances between ICCS, Police Department and House Shield Julia de Burgos; and f. Provide psychological assistance to 10 battered women and their children victims] and (2.) Develop a prevention program for male students at junior high schools. [a. Identify two schools with high violence incidence at Ponce; b. Identify 15 male students per school to be participants on the prevention program; and c. Coordinate a seven week program, two hours interventions per week, and the administration of a pre and post test.]
