The Bexar County Jail Diversion program model provides the structure upon which the full continuum of care within the mental health/criminal justice system is reviewed and analyzed such that key change points are identified and targeted, thus resulting in a complete approach to addressing the needs of the mentally ill while providing treatment within the least restrictive and most clinically appropriate setting.
