Description: The Latino Action Center is working with the 115th Police Precinct and local churches to conduct community outreach, seminars, and distribute educational and informational materials. Their crime prevention effort focuses on raising awareness of domestic violence and drug abuse. They are providing basic computer skills training to citizens in the community to address their lack of computer skills needed to seek employment. A line item in the FY 2005 Congressional budget provides funding to the Latino Action Center for their Crime Prevention and Computer Training Project.
