Description: In FY 2003, Congress created the Intermodal Transportation and Port Security Pilot Project, known as Project SeaHawk, at the Port of Charleston, South Carolina. Project SeaHawk consists of a task force of federal, State, and local law enforcement personnel conducting risk assessment and intrusion detection at the port. Funding for the project has provided a command and operations center, information technology systems and applications, equipment, and personnel resource support. Coordination for Project SeaHawk is provided through the South Carolina U.S. Attorney's Office.
