Description: The BLM, Vale District acquired the 227 acre property which is positioned on the western bank of the Snake River at the Oregon/Idaho border. This area of the Snake River is also known as the Brownlee Reservoir as the property is about 16 miles upstream from the Brownlee Dam. Baker County, Oregon and Idaho Power Company, entered into an agreement to build a low-water boat ramp, parking and sanitation facilities on the adjacent 18 acres. The parcel acquired by the BLM will be used mainly for access to the facilities and open space, in addition to protecting wildlife and enhancing recreational opportunities. Acquisition of the property also consolidated Federal holdings. Title to the property was accepted by the United States on September 20, 2006.
