Description: Current shipboard PBX Switches do not comply with DoD policy requiring certification that ensures interoperability and security for the Defense Switched Network (DSN). Funding will provide software/hardware upgrades to DIFINITY Telephone Switch Platforms (approx. 15 large Navy ships) to improve security for Shipboard Systems in order to comply with Congressional Mandated certification requirements and ultimately, readiness. Upgrades are scheduled to begin in the forth quarter of FY 2004, on ships deploying in a Battle Group with determination by Target Configuration Date (TCD).
