Year Enacted: 2005
Description: Electromagnetic Gun Initiative: This effort is to develop a novel, optically controlled advanced solid state switch with the intent to reduce high risk areas, formulate best technical approach and facilitate future growth potential for high energy electromagnetic (EM) gun pulse power applications. This add was useful in that it provided a design of the silicon switch device, optical turn on/off and high voltage protection circuits for high energy pulsed duty required for the next generation of pulsed power supplies required for the upcoming EM Gun ATD.
