Technology Demonstration for the Prevention of Material Degradation

Description: Technology Demonstration for the Prevention of Material Degradation: Tasks demonstrated to field units include NDT for detecting corrosion issues in helicopters and modular (portable) facilities for applying CPCs (corrosion preventive compounds) to vehicles. The output from other tasks, such as Joint Test Protocols (JTPs) and corrosion sensors, will be used by the test community to evaluate new designs and COTS (commercial off the shelf) technologies. In addition, many segments of the design community have requested the information coming out of many of the other tasks (such as the methodology for obtaining costs of corrosion, protective coatings for canvas and wood, composites, sacrificial metallic coatings, etc.)
