Medical Modeling and Simulation Through Synthetic Digital Genes

1 recipient will receive $1,437,000. This is a continuing earmark.
Year Enacted: 2005
Description: The proposal will develop advanced, high-speed algorithms which will transform geometric digitized anatomy as well as all related and available physiological data into compact rule based data structures, or `digital gene sequences`, testing the hypothesis that such data structures can be economically deployed on very low cost computing platforms. MODIFICATION: Modification proposal is a continuation of ongoing work to develop enabling technologies using Biologically Inspired Computational (BIC) methods which should ultimately result in advanced, high-fidelity medical simulation.
