Description: This is collaborative proposal from the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, Inc. and the University of Pennsylvania, with the work to be performed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) and the University of Pennsylvania. They propose to design and construct multileaf collimators (MLC) to be used to deliver proton radiotherapy. This research project will be a truly unique joint collaborative effort between the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN) and the Children s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). The majority of the research for this project will occur at UPENN where the proton treatment facility is currently being designed and will soon undergo construction. The oversight and management for the proposal will be coordinated by and provided through the Radiation Oncology Service at WRAMC.
