Description: North Mississippi Medical Center, in conjunction with its health system, North Mississippi Health Services, proposes a three-phase project to install Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Teleradiology at its main hospital campus, five community hospitals, and at 17 clinics and one freestanding imaging center. In addition to improving the quality of radiology services for people living in this rural region, including military personnel, military reserve personnel, and military dependents, the PACS systems will be used to test security architecture for networked medical devices, an initiative of critical importance to the military, and to research clinical outcomes associated with PACS technology that are of significance to the military and other health care operations.
