In addition to improving the quality of radiology services for people living in this rural region, including military personnel, military reserve personnel, and military dependents, the PACS systems will be used to test security architecture for networked medical devices, an initiative of critical importance to the military, and to research clinical outcomes associated with PACS technology that are of significance to the military and other health care operations.
