Description: The overall goal of this proposal is to make significant improvements in the management of three life-threatening clinical problems which military doctors face when caring for wounded soldiers. These are: 1) vascular leak syndromes from blast injuries, crush injuries or smoke inhalation; 2) intra-abdominal adhesions following emergency abdominal surgery; and 3) arterial injuries which require artery replacement.
