Description: System of Systems Security Integration Initiative: The allocation, by the FCC of the 4.9 GHz band for Public Safety use & the shared use of the 5.9 GHz band, for both Intelligent Transportation Systems and Public Safety First Responders, has opened the door to the development of systems that will accommodate the needs of the Public Safety community for faster and more efficient data communications. The Pinellas County, FL Economic Development Department has teamed with the Pinellas County Community Reuse Organization & Concurrent Technologies Corp to develop this open standard. Pinellas County is participating as a member of the System of Systems Security Integration Initiative, which is forging effective regional security through system of systems integration involving over twenty University, Gov't and Commercial entities from NJ to FL. ARDEC leads this & will provide manpower to perform specific R&D efforts, e.g., requirements analysis, assist in choosing best technical solution, & refining the engineering process of building technology solutions through synthesis between proposed technical solutions & refined requirements.
