Description: ALVA overall research develops remote sensing laser radar technology for space and battlefield surveillance, and ballistic missile defense applications. ALVA HiCLASS continues to serve as the Government truth range sensor and will be augmented with low-power photon-counting laser radar for small and/or dim object tracking, characterization, and imaging. ALVA SID research is targeted at transitioning new laser intel and targeting sensors to the MAJCOMs, and continues to move toward showing the effectiveness of deployment of laser radar technology to the warfighter in Iraq.
