Description: Develop, characterize, model and evaluate nondestructive evaluation (NDE) techniques to meet Air Force aging aircraft inspection needs. These needs include the detection and characterization of cracks in multi-layered structures, measurement of material loss and surface roughness due to corrosion, detection of cracks in complex turbine engine component geometries, and measurement of residual stress depth profiles.
