Description: Compare the accuracy of blood typing by DNA with the traditional methods of blood typing. We anticipate the DNA-based typing method will prove to be more rapid and more exact, a potentially life saving benefit, particularly for patients who receive multiple transfusions such as those with cancer or sickle cell anemia. This study will preferentially type donors recruited under the Rare Donor Program.
