Description: Develop cancer incidence and prevalence studies, risk factor identification, patterns of use and delivery of health care for cancer, epidemiologic and statistical analyses of cancer rates, geographic pattern mapping, genetic risk factor identification, and other related research. The research efforts of the Costal Cancer Control Program designate the Hollings Cancer Center at MUSC as the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the appointed Comprehensive Cancer Center. Grants to investigators at MUSC will support the development and performance of innovative collaborative cancer research projects that utilize data sources within the DoD, South Carolina, and other relevant sources. Award of the funds on a contract through Naval Health Research Center (NHRC) will encourage studies that utilize data resources within the DoD and may have relevance and benefit to active duty military populations.
