Description: Today's operating forces must be more agile and responsive with smaller sustainment footprints. The pace of current operations combined with the fact that weapon systems are becoming more technically complex drives a need for an enterprise-wide, single source of authoritative product data. Allowing the field maintainer to better share information with I-Level and Depot-Level support, the OEMs, Weapon System PMOs, and other subject-matter-experts will reduce the burden on the field maintainer. The concept of the Defense Integrated Technical Data Center (D-ITDC) will build out an infrastructure with a set of applications to facilitate the sharing of information among these constituents. When completed, the ITDC will yield: Improved readiness; Better asset visibility by depots, OEMs and PMOs; A more lean sustainment process; Improved shore-based agility to support surge requirements; Demand for technological advances to support war fighters in new and/or unique theaters of operation, enhancing capabilities such as survivability, reliability and lethality.
