Description: The central goal of the Integrated Littoral Sensor Network was to integrate scientific resources and understanding so as to enable rapid and effective response to potential terrorist threats as well as to episodic natural or accidental hazards, such as severe storms, harmful algae blooms or toxic spills. Deliverables to the Navy were a portable suite of sensors, models and informatics techniques for detection, diagnosis, and predictions of manmade and natural water-borne pathogens and toxins in ports, bays and littoral waters.
