Description: Continued research into the development of affordable, compact, efficient sensors that allowed ease of deployment and permitted the rapid measurement of bioluminescence in the world's oceans in order to create a database for future research. Advances in basic research over several years on bioluminescence in the ocean have enabled the development of a fundamental understanding of the phenomena and the Navy operations that may be affected.
