Description: The Advanced Mine Detector AN/PSS-14 provides the capability to detect low metallic mines and will replace the AN/PSS-12 Mine Detector. The AN/PSS-14 AMDs will be fielded to deployed Marines in support of operations such as Iraqi Freedom II and Enduring Freedom. The capability to detect and locate low metallic mines, which is provided by the AN/PSS-14 AMD is imperative to improving operating force protection.
