Description: The Visitor Facility Enhancement program element includes the development and rehabilitation of facilities that support public use at national wildlife refuges. These low-cost construction projects such as boat docks, boardwalks, and observation towers reach more community members with greater efficiency and reduced operational and maintenance costs. In the 2005 House report in the resource management refuges section (p26), the service received $2 million for visitor facilities enhancements.
