Description: Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area commemorates the natural ford on the Colorado River, which has been a gathering spot for people for over 500 years and is an important landmark of the Nation's westward expansion. Funding was provided to complete Gateway Park, complete 400 acres of restoration in East Wetlands, conserve, provide security, and obtain grant funding for Southern Pacific Freight Depot, and develop environmental education and film on East Wetlands.
