Description: Shenandoah Valley Battlefields National Historic District tells the military and civilian stories of the Civil War. It contains 15 battlefields, over 320 sites, towns, villages, and farms in the eight-county National Historic District. Funding was provided to continue battlefield preservation efforts, complete a District-wide interpretive plan, implement a cooperative marketing program, sponsor an educational conference, and continue the 'Implementation Project Grants' program.
