Description: Funding was provided for the City of Tacoma for an analysis of cost and feasibility for establishing a passenger excursion train from downtown Tacoma, in combination with shuttle services, to provide an alternate means of transportation to Mount Rainier National Park. The analysis will include an evaluation of alternative transportation options in a regional context, including the provision of a multi-use pedestrian trail located with the railroad right-of-way owned by the City of Tacoma.
