Description: The Lower East Side Tenement Museum in New York City was chartered in 1988 and became an NPS affiliated area in November 1998. Funding was provided for development and delivery of interpretive and educational activities for new program elements such as the Irish Family Apartment and to build capacity to serve increasing visitorship. The Museum receives limited funding through the ONPS appropriation.
