Erie Canalway National Corridor

Description: Erie Canalway National Corridor covers 524 miles in Upstate New York, including four navigable waterways: Erie, Champlain, Oswego and Cayuga-Seneca; sections of the first Erie Canal; and over 200 municipalities adjacent to the canals. Funding was provided to open a new heritage corridor visitor facility and headquarters on the Erie Canal in partnership with the State of New York, complete the final phase of the required public planning process to establish priorities and recommendations for the future revitalization of the heritage corridor, implement early action strategies of the management plan, and establish a grant incentive program .
