Chesapeake Bay Gateways Network

Description: Funding was provided to support technical and financial assistance programs of the Chesapeake Bay Gateways Network. The Chesapeake Bay Gateways Network was authorized by Congress in 1998 to create a network of parks, wildlife refuges, historic sites, water trails, museums and other entities in the Chesapeake Bay watershed that provide access, interpret, educate, or work to restore the bay. The NPS was authorized to designate Gateways, provide technical and financial assistance to the Gateways, and to maintain the Network. (Management and oversight operations are funded under ONPS.)
