Description: Blue Ridge National Heritage Area was authorized in 2003 to celebrate the region's natural landscape, abundance of nationally significant places, cultural contributions of the Cherokee Nation, and mountain culture that shaped the area's distinctive music and crafts. Funding was provided to implement trail signage program and publish guide, implement the Blue Ridge Heritage Pass, publish educational materials, create a television program with Turner South Network, and complete the Ten Year Management Plan.
