“Federal employees are working together, both within their agencies and across the Federal government. In concert with the four other management agenda goals, E-government is transforming our agencies and producing results by providing improved services,” said Clay Johnson III, Deputy Director for Management for OMB.

USA Services presents citizens with a single “front door” to government, allowing them to receive accurate, timely, and consistent answers and information. Through Firstgov.gov, the National Contact Center (1-800-FED-INFO), and the Pueblo, Colorado, publication distribution facility, USA Services had 209 million citizen contacts in FY 2003. Launched in 2002, GovBenefits.gov has referred more then 2 million visitors to benefit programs for which they may be eligible. Recently, a loan benefit tool was added to the GovBenefits.gov site, providing enhanced loan services to Americans.» Recreation.gov will release a new centralized national recreation reservations system in spring 2005. Additionally more then 3 million Americans filed their taxes on-line for free in spring 2004, an increase of over 20 percent from the year before. These Initiatives will continue to deliver value to citizens in the forthcoming year.

Strategic National and Theater Defense

Strategic National and Theater Defense involves establishing national and multinational military objectives; sequencing initiatives; defining limits and assess risks for the use of military and other instruments of national power; developing global plans or theater war plans to achieve these objectives; and providing military forces and other capabilities in accordance with strategic plans.

 

Operational Defense

Operational Defense involves linking tactics and strategy by establishing operational objectives needed to accomplish the strategic objectives, sequencing events to achieve the operational objectives, initiating actions, and applying resources to bring about and sustain these events.

 

Tactical Defense

Tactical Defense involves focusing on the ordered arrangement and maneuver of combat elements in relation to each other and to the enemy to achieve combat objectives.
