The Federal Asset Sales (FAS) identifies, recommends, and implements improvements for asset recovery and disposition, making it easier for agencies, businesses, and citizens to find and acquire/buy federal assets.

The FAS sales centers include the General Services Administration (GSA), the Department of Treasury, the Department of Justice (DOJ) (U.S. Marshals Service), and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The universe of agencies that are required to either become or use a personal property sales center is from Draft Regulation FMR 102-38. Personal property includes anything that is not real property.
