President Signs H.R. 2383, H.R. 3817, H.R. 4000, H.R. 4559, H.R. 4559, H.R. 5061, H.R. 5103, H.R. 5585, H.R. 5690, and H.R. 6121.
On Tuesday, December 12, 2006 the President signed into law:
H.R. 2383, which redesignates the facility of the Bureau of Reclamation in Byron, California, as the C.W. "Bill" Jones Pumping Plant;
H.R. 3817, the "Valle Vidal Protection Act of 2005," with withdraws the approximately 101,794 acre Valle Vidal unit of the Carson National Forest in New Mexico from all forms of mineral entry;
H.R. 4000, which authorizes the Department of the Interior to revise certain repayment contracts with several irrigation districts that are part of the Pick-Sloan Missouri Basin Program;
H.R. 4559, which provides for the conveyance of two specified parcels of National Forest land in the State of Wisconsin;
H.R. 5061, the "Paint Bank and Wytheville National Fish Hatcheries Conveyance Act," which directs the Department of the Interior to convey the Paint Bank National Fish Hatchery and Wytheville National Fish Hatchery to the Commonwealth of Virginia;
H.R. 5103, which directs the Secretary of Agriculture to convey a specified parcel of Federal land in the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area in Virginia to the Evangelical Lutheran Coalition for Mission in Appalachia;
H.R. 5585, the "Financial Netting Improvements Act of 2006," which provides for expanded use of "financial netting" in the disposition of financial contracts that involve newer forms of contractual arrangements in the event of insolvency of certain depository institutions and credit unions;
H.R. 5690, the "Ouachita National Forest Boundary Adjustment Act of 2006," which adjusts the boundaries of the Ouachita National Forest in the States of Oklahoma and Arkansas; and
H.R. 6121, which reauthorizes the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Restoration Program through FY 2011.
