Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush announced today that he has named four individuals to serve in his Administration:

The President has named David Broome to be Special Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs. Mr. Broome recently served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Senate Affairs at the Department of Defense. He received his bachelor's degree from American University.

The President has named Gordon Johndroe to be Special Assistant to the President and National Security Council Press Secretary. Mr. Johndroe currently serves as Director of Strategic Communications and Planning at the State Department. He previously served as Press Secretary to the First Lady at the White House. He attended the University of Texas at Austin.

The President has named Richard Klingler to be Senior Associate Counsel to the President and National Security Counsel Legal Adviser and General Counsel. Mr. Klingler recently served as Associate Counsel to the President. He received bachelor's degrees from Stanford University and Oxford University, and a J.D. from Stanford Law School.

The President has named Bobby Pittman, Jr. to be Special Assistant to the President for African Affairs of the National Security Council. Mr. Pittman recently served as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Africa Bureau at the Department of State. He received his bachelor's degree from Florida State University and his master's degree from the University of Chicago.
