Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual to serve in his Administration:

The President intends to nominate David Longly Bernhardt, of Colorado, to be Solicitor of the Department of the Interior. Mr. Bernhardt currently serves as Deputy Solicitor of the Department of the Interior. He previously served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Counselor to the Secretary at the Department, as well as Counselor to the Secretary and Director of Congressional and Legislative Affairs. Prior to joining the Administration, Mr. Bernhardt was an Associate with Brownstein Hyatt & Farber, P.C. Earlier in his career, he served as Legal Counsel and Rules Committee Associate for Congressman Scott McInnis. Mr. Bernhardt received his bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Colorado and his JD from The George Washington University.
