Bush signs into law H.R. 1268, the "Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Act for Defense, the Global War on Terror, and Tsunami Relief, 2005," Wednesday, May 11, 2005, in the Oval Office. The bill provides emergency supplemental appropriations for military operations, relief and reconstruction, and related activities critical to building stable democracies in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as assisting those who suffered in the aftermath of the December 2004 tsunami in the Indian Ocean.
