Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual, appoint two individuals and designate two individuals to serve in his administration:

The President intends to nominate Jonathan Brian Perlin, of Maryland, to be Under Secretary for Health at the Department of Veterans Affairs. Dr. Perlin currently serves as Acting Under Secretary for Health at the Department. Previously, he was Deputy Under Secretary for Health and prior to that served as Chief Quality and Performance Officer at the Department of Veterans Affairs. Before joining the Department, Dr. Perlin served as Medical Director for Quality Improvement at the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System. Dr. Perlin received his bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia and his master's degree, M.D., and Ph.D. from Virginia Commonwealth University.

The President intends to appoint the following individuals to be Members of the Federal Service Impasses Panel for the remainder of a five-year term expiring January 10, 2010:

Richard Barber Ainsworth, Jr. of Ohio

Becky Norton Dunlop of Virginia, and re-designate Chairman

The President intends to designate Raymond F. DuBois, of the District of Columbia, to be Acting Under Secretary of the Army at the Department of Defense.
