U.S. Military Delivers Aid to Tsunami Victims

American soldiers and sailors continue to deliver aid to tsunami victims. As of Jan. 6, the U.S. military has delivered more than 639,500 pounds of relief supplies to the region. Some 14,700 pounds of food and about 14,000 pounds of water were delivered on Jan. 5 alone. U.S. military pilots have flown nearly 900 hours to bring relief to tsunami victims. More than 13,000 military personnel are serving in Operation Unified Assistance. These are just a few more ways the United States is helping those devastated by the tsunamis.
