Afghans Turn in Thousands of Heavy Weapons
Fact of the Day

Afghanistan's New Beginnings Programme reports that 6,176 working or repairable heavy weapons have been collected throughout the country. An additional 165 weapons are about to be collected in Kunduz. Talks are ongoing with commanders in the Panjshir valley to collect more heavy weapons there. Moreover, 27,669 former members of the Afghan Military Forces have disarmed and the majority have entered the reintegration program to train for a new career.
