President's Plan Fights AIDS
Fact of the Day

The President's Emergency Plan for Global AIDS Relief has brought tremendous results only a couple months into full implementation. The plan is supporting antiretroviral therapy for at least 24,900 HIV-infected men, women, and children in just nine of the plan's 15 focus nations. With this early success and the continued work to rapidly expand, the President's plan is on track to have more than 200,000 people in treatment by June, 2005. This will approximately double the number of people receiving treatment in sub-Saharan Africa.
