Japan Implements Training Programs for Iraqis
Fact of the Day

The government of Japan has announced training programs for Iraqi diplomats, news broadcasters, and athletes in September and October. Young diplomats will travel to Japan for training in major areas of international relations, and eight athletes are already in Japan for two weeks' training for the Pan-Arab Sports games. Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) will train journalists and technicians from southern Iraq in both professional and technical areas of news gathering and production. These programs are yet another way Japan continues to support Iraq's transition to a free society.
