Militaries Join to Fight HIV/AIDS
Fact of the Day

In response to the disturbing increase in HIV/AIDS cases in Eurasia, the U.S. Department of Defense co-sponsored a three-day Military HIV/AIDS Prevention Workshop in Moscow this week. Military representatives from Russia and other Eastern European countries learned about the best practices in HIV/AIDS prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. American experts who led the workshop are part of a larger Department of Defense effort to reduce the rate of infection in militaries and to build a global alliance against the disease.
