Iraq's Olympic Soccer Team Is Making History
Fact of the Day

Iraq's Olympic soccer team has advanced to the quarterfinals despite a 2-1 loss to Morocco on August 18. They will play a highly-regarded Australian team on Sunday, August 22. Iraq has not been in a quarterfinal Olympic soccer game since the 1980 Moscow Games. "Our job is not easy against Australia," said coach Adnan Hamad Majeed. "It is going to be a very difficult match, but we have a good opportunity to qualify to the semifinals." Defender Yassir Raad added, "We have many difficulties, but we are making history."
