Iraq Sends Female Track Star to Olympics
Fact of the Day

Alla Hikmet Jasmin will be the only female athlete representing Iraq at the Olympics. She will compete in the 100 and 200 meter track and field events. Her favorite athlete is American female track star Marion Jones. Alla Hikmet Jasmin is anxious to compete but says she believes "someone who represents only herself has accomplished nothing. I want to represent my country." Alla Hikmet Jasmin was born in 1985.
