Statement by the President on the Paraguay Fire
President Bush would like to offer his deepest sympathy and condolences to the people of Paraguay for yesterday's tragic fire in an Asuncion supermarket which claimed the lives of more than 300 people and injured scores more. The United States Embassy in Asuncion and other United States government agencies are working closely with Paraguayan officials to identify the emergency assistance that we can provide.
