Alhurra TV Gains in Popularity Across the Middle East
Fact of the Day

Alhurra TV, a U.S.-funded Arabic-language television service established barely six months ago, is increasing in popularity across the Middle East. According to a recent survey, Alhurra is watched by 61 percent of Iraqi adults. Alhurra transmits news and public affairs programming 24 hours a day to 22 countries in the Middle East and North Africa. It is operated by the Middle East Television Network, Inc., a non-profit corporation funded by the American people through the U.S. Congress.
