Statement on H.J. Res 97, H.R. 884, H.R. 2751 and S.R. 2017

On Wednesday, July 7, 2004, the President signed into law:

H.J.Res. 97, which renews the import restrictions contained in the Burmese Freedom and Democracy Act of 2003.

H.R. 884, which authorizes the distribution of funds awarded to the Western Shoshone Indians in settlement of claims against the United States.

H.R. 2751, which modifies human capital management authorities of the General Accounting Office (GAO) and renames the GAO the "Government Accountability Office."

S. 2017, which designates the United States courthouse and post office building located at 93 Atocha street in Ponce, Puerto Rico, as the Luis A. Ferre United States Courthouse and Post Office Building.
