Statement by the Press Secretary

On Tuesday, June 22, 2004, the President signed into law:

H.R. 1086, which extends limited antitrust protection to standards development organizations; increases the maximum penalties for violations of Federal antitrust laws; and temporarily provides for limited civil antitrust liability for participants in the Justice Department's corporate leniency program; and

S. 1233, the "National Great Black Americans Commemoration Act of 2004," which authorizes a grant to the Great Blacks in Wax Museum, Inc., in Baltimore, Maryland, to carry out programs relating to civil rights and juvenile justice through the National Great Blacks in Wax Museum and Justice Learning Center.
